Disneyland
Passholes..
That's what we became a year ago. We heard that term from a cast member at Disneyland - a "friendly" term for annual passholders. If you have ever seen a passholder in action you may realize why that nickname has been given. And if you haven't, they are pretty easy to spot. They tend to think they know everything about Disney, love to flash their passes to get discounts, think they are too good to be in line. They only use FastPass, and only stay at Disneyland for two or three hours tops. Snobs.
If you go to Disneyland on a typical weekend you may see Sam there with his pin books ready to trade his extra exclusive-special-limited-edition pin. I will probably be by the food cart getting a cream cheese jalapeno pretzel.
This year, we also extended our pass to Disney World in Florida, which has since become a very special place for both of us.

Our families couldn't be happier. After almost eight years together we are making it official!
Wow does time fly! Nine years ago, a mutual friend introduced us.
The funny thing is, Sam actually knew my dad before we met because they both worked at El Segundo school district. My dad would talk to my mom about his coworkers and, in conversation, would bring up Sam the "nice guy" who is always at Fry's and who they call the garbage disposal because he will eat anything. He didn't even consider introducing Sam to me not because he was protective of me, but because he was protective of Sam!
Here's the proof. One day, my dad told Sam a story about me in college. I had said that our home printer was broken. So he went to buy a new one that same day, only to find out that I took the "broken" printer back to my apartment to use. Hey! The paper tray was broken and I didn't mind manually feeding it paper but my dad was convinced I bamboozled him so I could get a printer.
Fast forward a couple of years and despite the initial weirdness of Sam and my dad knowing each other, we ended up chatting online. After casually talking about iPods (I have to take credit for introducing this to him), other electronics, and computer games, we found ourselves hanging out more often.
This story is nothing special but what we have is. We are just two geeky people who share a quirky love and now we are engaged to be married!
And just for the record, my dad did try to warn Sam... =)

About Us

Games
Wii love games..
Sam is the type of gamer that will buy a PS3, XBox, Wii, PSP, DS, DSI and use his computer for games because he can't make up his mind which one he wants. The benefit to this is that we get to try out all the different types of games. A few of our favorites that we like to play together: Band Hero, Lips, Wii Fit (we don't get to this one as much as we should), Fruit ninja Kinect, Trivial pursuit, Starcraft, and Portal.
One game in particular was a huge part of our lives... When we first met, Sam introduced me to a game in beta called World of Warcraft. I got addicted, took over his account and Sam had to get me an actual account so he could have his back. The great thing about this game was that we were able to talk to, and play with many of our friends that we wouldn't normally be able to talk to on a weekly basis.

Hockey
We got the cup!!
We are so glad that we can finally stop hearing "where's your cup?!" from bandwagon Ducks fans. We were at the game when they won it all! Sam was so happy he started crying. There are photos...
Sam has been a hockey fan since college. He loves the game and even plays occasionally. Sam and I are season ticket holders for the Los Angeles Kings, and are loyal fans. If you didn't know that yet, you will definitely know at the wedding.
While traveling out of state, whenever we get the chance we try to visit other hockey arenas. It has become one of our goals, to go to every NHL hockey rink at least once. Of course, bonus points if the Kings are actually playing that day.
So far, we've been to Phoenix, San Jose, Anaheim, New York, Tampa Bay, Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto.
“You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.” -Desmond Tutu
Family is very important to both of us and while you don't get to choose your family members, we would not want to change a thing.
During the first couple of years that we were together, Sam came over to our family events and got along with my family very well. Our families love games. At every family gathering we play Pictionary, Salad bowl (thanks Kylie), bingo, or any other new game that we can play. My family is VERY competitive. I was actually scared that Sam would be intimidated by all the competitiveness, but he fit in perfectly. Sam's parents are very easy going and seem to like games as well. This must be where Sam gets his game skills from.
